Yes, there are some issues right now that seem to be effecting many users of boomp.com.

I've located and checked out your forums at what I believe to be http://redcarpetlite.boomp.com/ .

Looks like you're having the same issues as the rest of us. I ran a google search on the first line of the error, and it does appear to be effecting far more boomp.com users than are actively posting about it. Hopefully, something will be done to fix this problem soon.

Edit: Has anyone else noticed that the only boomp.com hosted forum that appears to still be functional IS this particular support forum that is hosted from another folder rather than a subdirectory? Perhaps this has something to do with the issue? However, the older styles of urls for boomp-bosting- http://www.boomp.com/board/index.php?mforum=forumname and http://www.boomp.com/board/forumname.html - don't appear to work at all anymore. However, it doesn't report those errors like the other forums... interesting.

You see, that's the problem. We have no idea if they're doing anything about it at all.

Would be Welcome news. At least we would know something is being done.

Rather than the current situation of nothing. Nothing is known. Nothing is being said. Nothing is getting resolved.

It seems like a lot of people are stuck with broken forums, no way to back up their data and move to a new host, and no idea if the administrator is even still alive. (You can email the admin and request a backup, but last time we tried this, he responded that this was impossible. This was the main reason we of the Demon Gate forums are still using boomp for hosting right now, and now we're in an even worse situation because the data we wanted backedup to move is now almost entirely USELESS because the players can't communicate anymore, and this is after adding a lot more info to it.)

I'd say it might be a good idea to try getting in contact with admin@boomp.com through email, but if many people do this simultaneously, we'll just slow down the response... But with no action here, that might be the way to go.

If I had a fix for this, I'd share it with you, but I don't think it's anything I'm able to fix.

More info on being entirely unable to get a backup of forum data: http://boomp.com/support/support-about50.html

So for anyone who might have just started, or was considering boomp, I highly recommend just looking for some other place for hosting right now unless the project you're working on really isn't that important to you. It's okay for getting a feeling for how to manage forums, though.

I don't think they are comeing for us. The captains have jumped ship and left us to go down with the ship. glub, glub, glub, glub.

Any recomomentations on another good forum Host that is FREE and who's administrators DO SOMETHING when you have a problem?? Evil or Very Mad For real, got any??? Confused

** We could all move here, pic a thread to call our own and fill up their board with our own, since we seem to be doing well on this one.. Just an idea****

I've already shipped out to myfreeforum.org but our members are very apathetic about another shift. We have only been on here six months after the guy who ran our previous board lost interest. I just googled "feee forum" at the time and up came this useless shower Crying or Very sad

Stop putting others down, dude. This might be the internet, but the people on the other side are living just like you- though, not necessarily living your same lifestyle.

Collecting tends to be a popular hobby, and the collection of autographs isn't much different than a collection of pictures.

Uhh, yeah.

So lemme get this straight, you most likely watch these people living their life, yes? I assume the more "popular" the person is, the greater the "prize" that persons autograph is, yes? Soooo, you somewhat idolize that person you're trying to get that autograph from, yes? I mean it's obvious a well paid celeb or political figure is what you're after, right? Why put forth all that effort to get someones autograph, instead, why not try to be the person that is giving out the autograph? Not putting you down, just trying to wrap my brain around your hobby.

Btw, comb is ghey.

Caveman

Don't be a bellend all your life, idiot. If you can't accept that people have different interests to you then you need to grow up.

BACK to the topic in hand, sick to death of waiting for boomp, they have now lost us, we have a new forum using proboards.com

BYEEEE BOOMP
